A father and daughter were involved in a tragic incident after being hit by a car in Dublin.
A man in his 50s sadly passed away and his daughter was left seriously injured after they were struck by a vehicle last night.
Emergency officials were called to the scene in Lucan, but the man was later pronounced dead.
The daughter and the driver of the car were also taken to hospital to seek medical assistance.
“The incident occurred on the Newcastle Road while the man and woman were out walking in Lucan at around 9pm.
“The man was treated at the scene but was later pronounced dead.
“The woman’s injuries, while described as serious, are not thought to be life threatening.
“The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital suffering from shock,” reports RTE News.
Drivers are being advised that the road from Grand Canal Bridge to the New Nangor Road has been closed off for a Garda inspection.
